It was a great weekend! Beautiful weather, good food and great friends!!

Here we are at the dog show this past weekend in Oshkosh. I arrived on Friday and stayed through Sunday. We had a great weather weekend and the lhasas got to stay outside in the exercise pens for most of the day. They loved barking at other dogs, people and horses.

The weather was great - no rain. We showed late in the day so puppies got to run around. It was a relaxing weekend.

Great food was prepared and we had steak with mushrooms and potatoe salad. Yummy!

Stewie was Best of Breed on Saturday. Karen showed him in the group for me so I could see him. He looked nice. Sunday Penny won the Breed and Group 3. Yippie!!!

This is one of the beautiful horses that was being shown at the Oshkosh Dressage at the fairgrounds where the dog show was.

I also took a picture of the motorhome inside at night, so you can see how the dogs are all tucked in their bunks. It really works well for the shows, with the rest of the coach accessible and not disturbing the dogs.

I am making this post short and sweet today as I also hurt my arm over the weekend. I can not keep my left arm in a typing position very long, it really hurts. Not much gets me but this really is. So please have a safe weekend this holiday weekend. Have fun regardless of what you may be doing, dog shows, cookouts or nothing.

More after I feel better.

This was the weekend - number 2 - in MOM at a dog show. I must say I was somewhat excited to go to the show. Not just because if my dog showed well he could finish, but because it was a weekend to sit outside with friends in the decent weather at a dog show. Well.....

Here is a photo of my site. It is not a great photo. Reason is I was trying not to look like a dork taking the photo. Like I was taking a photo for evidence or something which I wasn't.

First it was a quiet spot, not near any other dog people or motor homes or show site or anything.
Second, it was on grass which is nice when it is not ankle high.
Third, it was 50amp power, which was nice with the air running one day and the heater at night. So we were cozy.
Third, it was a hike to the show buildings. This is where it gets interesting. I was parked out near the entrance/exit to the fairgrounds. Where I showed and grooming space was on the opposite side from where I was located. God bless Karen, she picked me up on Saturday and took to our grooming area.

Friday night it rained. It was about an hour of thunder and crazy lightening with a 15 minute down pour. It was fun listening to it in MOM. It however worried me that I was sitting on grass in a field.
Anyway, it was fine. I got up at 6:30 ish got ready, got the boys out, Karen picked us up and off we went.

We showed early before 10 am and I am pleased to say that Stewie won Winners Dog and went Best of Winners for the 4 points. So he is officially CH Golden Tu Karlyn Tattle Tail. Yea. So both Penny and Stewie are champions now and that gives their father GCh Joyslyn's Heartbreaker his ROM for being the sire of 5 champions. Ivy, their mom, has her ROM with Penny finishing and Stewie gives her 4 champions. So we are pleased.

Daryl Martin, a friend and professional handler, showed a bitch for our friend Kristine Harrison. June bug won on Saturday Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite sex for 5 points to finish. Congrats to Kris and Daryl for  always, showing to perfection.

We hung around because Joyce had to be in the Owner Handler group for winning Best of Breed Owner Handler with Kimmie. Our friend Jane was in also with her Shiba. They both placed in the group. Congrats.

The rest of the day was talking, watching and had a show photo taken which I will share when it is ready. We all sat in the motorhome and watched the Kentucky Derby and then went out to eat. Thanks Pam for taking me to dinner and back to MOM, appreciate it. Pam has Alaskan Malamutes. Beautiful dogs. She also had a great weekend, winning major points and is close to finishing her girl.

So since Stewie finished on Saturday, did not need to stay on Sunday, so I got the boys ready and packed up on Sunday morning and was off to head home by 9 am on Mothers Day. I was home at 11:30 am. Not bad. It was a great ride and saw some beautiful Wisconsin scenery along the way.
Something that you miss when you go on the interstate.

I do have to say one thing about manners and common sense. Dean and I went out to lunch Sunday- Mothers Day, because I was starving by the time I got home. So we went to a local diner. The food is great there. They were very busy of course because of Mothers Day. Well they sat a small family behind me: husband, wife and daughter. The daughter had purchase balloons and a card for her mother for the day. They put the balloons in the mom's car, but did not close one of the windows and all the balloons the daughter had purchased, blew away. Well this started it... the mom get mad at the dad for not checking the windows before he put the balloons in the car. The daughter got mad because he was not being nice on mother's day, a day that he felt was not a holiday nor a big deal. Well that pissed the daughter off and then mom got pissed off and the fighting started against dad for being a truly stupid guy. He got very mad and kicked the booth with his foot, which send a boom throughout the diner and my back, I was sitting in the booth back to back with the idiot. So he did that twice which I told Dean third time and I will escort him out of here. One of the waitresses came to their table and told them very politely that this is not their home, to conduct themselves in a courteous manner and behave or they will be asked to leave. When she left so did the daughter and then the discussion was why the daughter left and what a dead beat she was. Talk about a disrespectful, dysfunctional family unit. I hope the good lord protects them from themselves, because they obviously need it.

Next trip is the Wisconsin Winnebago Owners Camp out, in the Dells area. Should be fun. Hope to get some good hints on travel and upkeep of my coach. Hope for good weather. I will let you know how it goes and I will take better photos of my set up.

So have a great week, more next time.
